Celebrate Dickens in Dillard Festival with Us!

🎩 Vendor Information

We invite you to join us for the 1st Annual Dickens in Dillard — a Victorian Christmas Festival nestled in the beautiful North Georgia Mountains.

Our vision is to create a cozy, storybook-inspired market village that feels like it stepped right off the pages of A Christmas Carol — twinkling lights, warm garlands, laughter, music, delicious scents, and holiday cheer in the air. ✨

Your creativity is what makes the festival come alive.

🎪 Booth & Tent Requirements

To keep our market village looking charming and consistent, all vendors agree to the following:

  • Tent Style Standard: Basic 10x10 white canopy tent ONLY (no exceptions)
  • Tent Appearance: No printed branding, lettering, or logos on the tent exterior
  • Side Walls: Each vendor must provide 3 white tent sidewalls, installed during setup
  • Front Tent Décor: Vendor agrees to allow festival organizers to decorate the front frame with removable, damage-free holiday décor for consistency. Decor remains property of the festival.

🎀Booth Display Décor

  • Use greenery, garlands, bows, fabric, wooden crates, baskets, etc.
  • All tables must be fully draped or skirted
  • NO glitter, tinsel, metallic garland, or loose shiny sprinkles (the mountain wind will find them 😅)
  • All items must fit inside your 10x10 footprint
  • Weights required: Minimum 40 lbs per tent leg (safety first!)

🎩 Attire - Victorian Style Made Easy

Costumes are required for everyone working. Simple Victorian-inspired is perfect! Think: shawls, scarves, vests, capes, bonnets, top hats, wooly wraps, cozy layers. No need to buy expensive costumes! You can create a charming Victorian look using clothes you already own or a quick stop at a thrift store. Think cozy, layered, and festive — not historically perfect. If it feels storybook Christmas village, you’re doing it right ✨

👒 For Ladies

Easy outfit formula:

  • Long skirt (solid, plaid, or dark pattern)
  • Blouse (higher neckline if possible)
  • Shawl, wrap, or cozy cape
  • Boots or simple flats
  • Hat with ribbon or flowers (just decorate a straw/felt hat!)

For a simpler, “working village” look:

  • Plain dress + apron + shawl (Also perfectly on-theme!)

🎩 For Gentlemen

Quick Victorian look:

  • White or neutral shirt
  • Vest
  • Dark pants
  • Scarf or ribbon tied at the neck
  • Any hat (top hat, flat cap, or newsboy cap)

Cheat code: Shirt + vest + scarf + hat = done ✔️

🧒 For Children

  • Boys: Trousers + shirt + vest + cap
  • Girls: Simple dress + shawl + hair ribbon
  • Babies: Cozy layers + bonnet or knit cap

🔌 Electricity, Comfort & Safety

  • Electricity is provided for essential use only (Think Christmas lights, not high-watt appliances)
  • No space heaters of any kind are permitted
  • These provided outlets are the ONLY acceptable source of electricity.
  • Propane/Kerosene Lanterns or Oil Lamps (please see fire extinguishers section if using this option).
  • Battery-operated lanterns or battery-operated lighting concealed in the underside area of the roof.
  • Non-blinking holiday lights may be used for both lighting and decoration.
  • Electricity will be provided to booth spaces. We strongly recommend booths continue providing Victorian ambiance with historical lanterns or battery-operated lighting.
  •  Every booth using flammable material MUST have a portable, functioning extinguisher.
  • No pets for vendors or attendees (we love them, but not at this event)

Weather:

This is a rain or shine event. If you choose to cancel due to weather, you may reapply next year, but vendor fees are non-refundable.

⏱ Set-Up Requirements

This helps us:

  • Maintain a clean + consistent look across the grounds
  • Keep morning setup smooth and easy
  • Ensure your booth is festival-ready before guests arrive 🎄

🛍 Vendor Selection Considerations

We review applications based on:

  • Product fit
  • Quality & craftsmanship
  • Booth presentation
  • Willingness to embrace the holiday theme 🌟

We do reserve the right to accept or dec vendor applications in order to maintain the festival’s theme and layout. This first year will feature a smaller, curated group of vendors to help us create a charming and cohesive village atmosphere. As the festival grows in future years, we look forward to welcoming more vendors and expanding the marketplace.

🧾 Vendor Fees

  • The vendor fee for artists, artisans and makers is $160, a flat non-refundable fee.
  • If selected, you’ll receive a confirmation email with payment instructions

🤝 In the Spirit of Community

We’re building something warm, whimsical, and lasting, a new holiday tradition for our mountain communities and visitors to enjoy year after year. Your participation is a true gift to the magic of the season.

We can't wait to celebrate a timeless, twinkling, Victorian Christmas with you. And as Tiny Tim said: “God bless us, every one.” 🎁🎄💫
